As part of its certification as an \u201cAuthorized Economic Operator\u201d (OEA), Baja California Railroad participated in the \u201cAuthorized Economic Operator in the Railway Sector\u201d workshop sponsored by Mexican IRS (SAT). This means that the railroad will be considered as \u201chighly reliable\u201d in customs security logistics.<\/p>\n
Operations Manager for BJRR Antonio Otanez mentioned that on June 19th and 20th he participated in the workshop that focus on to strengthen security along the supply chain by implementing international security standards, in coordination with the private sector.<\/p>\n
Among the issues stands out the scope, application and planning of security through the supply chain in matters such as risk analysis, policies, auditing, contingency plans and awareness; also investigation and management of incidents and personal security.<\/p>\n
On the Operations side, issues such as rail security while dragging and switching equipment, use of security seals, inspections, equipment storage and general security where addressed.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlso important considerations such as certification of commercial partners, customs inspections and operation policies where considered. All of this so BJRR can be up to date in importation of merchandise and products through rail\u201d, said Otanez.<\/p>\n
Also participating in the workshop along with BJRR were Mexican Association of Railroads, Kansas City Southern de Mexico, Ferromex and Ferrovalle, all very important railroad companies in Mexico that follow the same security rules and procedures.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe workshop contributes in providing a better service to our customers, guaranteeing security in the transportation of their goods by BJRR\u201d, concluded Otanez.<\/p>\n
