One of Baja California Railroad (BJRR) main concern is advising its customers the location and ETA of their freight and identifying areas of opportunity to better their services.

MUEBLEX is a maquiladora in Tijuana that produces furniture for distribution in the United States and Canada through its commercial partner and supplier Oak West, is one of BJRR business allies.

Import Manager for MUEBLEX Marco Cortes comments: “We have five industrial facilities and since 2017, BJRR has been our main freight source for pine lumber and have recently also contract Last Mille Service with BJRR also for delivery directly to our facilities”.

This valued BJRR customer also mentioned that by using these services, they have optimized their delivery times and logistics process.

Cortes commented also that PROFEPA is the Mexican Federal Entity that regulates importation of lumber into Mexico is done properly; this process is also eased by having a constant updates of location and ETA of goods and the early preparation of import documents this information provides.

He believes there’s no better option for transporting lumber from the United States and Canada into Mexico then the railroad.

“We have confided in the rail industry as a means of safe and economical transportation for our raw materials and the results have produced substantial savings in our logistics costs for our maquila process”, concluded Marcos Cortes.

BJRR has the know-how and experience to provide different and cost efficient freight service for lumber imported into Mexico.
